Spirit Airlines will introduce four categories of service for passengers to choose from. The highest tier, “Go Big” Tickets, includes a seat in the airline’s Big Front Seats along with free Wi-Fi, a checked bag, cabin luggage, and unlimited snacks and drinks. The next tier, “Go Comfy,” offers a standard seat with extra space due to a blocked middle seat, earlier boarding, snacks, beverages, and checked baggage. The “Go Savvy” fares come with either a checked bag or a carry-on, while the lowest tier, “Go,” provides only a seat with additional fees for extras.

Spirit Airlines is aiming to compete with larger carriers like United, who have been successful in attracting cost-conscious travelers with budget options while still offering premium services for higher fares. By introducing these new ticket packages, Spirit hopes to capture a wider market share and cater to passengers looking for a more premium travel experience. CEO Ted Christie emphasized the importance of not ceding markets to other airlines and the need to offer a variety of options to passengers.

Despite the introduction of new ticket packages, Spirit Airlines has faced challenges related to revenue in recent months. Nonticket revenue, which includes fees charged for various services, has fallen short of expectations, leading to a wider-than-expected loss for the airline.
