Google recently unveiled its latest addition to the Pixel lineup, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, in global markets, including India. This marks the company’s second venture into the foldable phone market, with the Pixel 9 Pro Fold being the first of its kind to make its debut in India. The Pixel 9 series, powered by Google’s Tensor G4 chipset, consists of four models, with the Pixel 9 Pro Fold being one of them.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold boasts an 8-inch inner display, complemented by a 6.3-inch cover screen. It is equipped with a 4,650mAh battery that supports charging speeds of up to 45W. Priced at Rs. 1,72,999, the foldable handset comes in a single configuration of 16GB RAM and 256GB storage and is available in Obsidian and Porcelain color options. Unlike its predecessors, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be available through various retailers such as Flipkart, Croma, and Reliance Digital.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is scheduled to go on sale in India on August 22, with customers having the option to purchase it from Google-owned Walk-in Centres in Delhi and Bengaluru. For future buyers in Mumbai, a third Walk-in Centre will be established. Additionally, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is a dual-SIM handset running on Android 14, promising seven years of software updates and security enhancements.
In terms of photography, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold features a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 10.5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 10.8-megapixel telephoto camera with advanced zoom capabilities. The device also offers exclusive Google camera features like Hands-free astrophotography, Video Boost, and Wind Noise Reduction, among others. With both the outer and inner screens hosting 10-megapixel cameras, users can expect high-quality selfies and video calls.
Customers in India will have access to a 256GB storage option, while those in the US and other regions can choose a 512GB variant. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, UWB, and USB Type-C port. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold also comes equipped with a range of sensors such as an accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, and proximity sensor.
With a robust 4,650mAh battery, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold ensures long-lasting usage. Charging can be done using a PPS charger at 45W or wirelessly via Qi wireless chargers. This feature allows users to stay connected without the hassle of frequent recharging.
